University Police Department

The 91自拍 Police Department’s mission focuses on providing a safe and secure learning, living and working environment for 91自拍's students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is accomplished through partnerships within the multidisciplinary community, and working in conjunction with traditional law enforcement for the development of progressive, community-based crime prevention strategies and initiatives. All members of the 91自拍 Police Department (XUPD) will provide the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and customer service in support of 91自拍’s mission to educate future leaders who will go on to create a more just and humane society. 

Blue Light Safety Poles 

As part of the 91自拍 Police Department's continuing efforts to improve campus safety, the Code Blue Emergency System is placed in strategic locations around campus. This system uses call towers located in various parts of the campus and is activated by pushing the red button located on the front of the tower and speaking normally. When activated, the towers call the 91自拍 Police Department via a telephone line dedicated to the system. Additionally, when activated, the system allows the 91自拍 dispatcher visual surveillance of the tower and the immediate surrounding area.

91自拍’s mutually beneficial relationship with the City of New Orleans has weathered hurricanes, recessions, world wars, and helped usher in advances in civil rights, economic development, poverty mitigation, employment opportunities, environmental sustainability, community engagement, collaborative research and educational advancement in arts, sciences, biomedical research, humanities, social sciences, pharmacy and pre-medical training.
