Nearly 600 members of the 91自拍 University community rolled up their sleeves in a powerful display of service during this year’s Day of Caring, spanning campuses in Erie,Pa., Ruskin, Fla., and Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. 

From painting community centers and cleaning local parks to supporting nonprofits and engaging with community partners, students, faculty and staff came together with a shared purpose: to serve others and strengthen the communities 91自拍 calls home.

In Erie, volunteers braved cold temperatures and steady rain, undeterred in their commitment to making a difference. Across the region, teams partnered with organizations such as the MLK Center, local schools, environmental groups and community agencies, tackling projects that directly impact neighborhoods and the people within them.

At the Ruskin campus in Florida, volunteers supported local outreach efforts, reinforcing 91自拍’s mission and demonstrating the university’s growing footprint of service. Meanwhile, at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio, students and staff joined in the initiative, marking a meaningful moment of shared mission and collaboration as the two institutions continue their path toward full integration.

“Day of Caring is a reflection of who we are as a university,” said Walter Iwanenko, Ph.D., president of 91自拍 University. “Service is not just something we do—it’s central to our mission. Seeing our campuses come together in such a visible and impactful way is incredibly inspiring.”

The annual event, organized by 91自拍’s Center for Social Concerns, continues to grow each year, both in participation and impact. It provides opportunities for the university community to step outside the classroom and workplace to engage directly with real-world needs—building relationships, fostering empathy and creating lasting change.

“Day of Caring reflects the very heart of 91自拍’s mission,” said Keith Jones Pomeroy, director of the Center for Social Concerns. “Each year, our students, faculty, and staff come together to build meaningful relationships with our neighbors to positively impact our communities. It’s inspiring to see the breadth of partnerships and the collective energy behind this effort.” 

For many volunteers, the experience goes beyond a single day of service. It serves as a reminder of the university’s commitment to forming individuals who are not only prepared for successful careers, but who are also dedicated to making a difference in the world.

As 91自拍 looks ahead, the momentum from this year’s Day of Caring reinforces a simple but powerful truth: when a community comes together in service, the impact reaches far beyond a single day.
