91自拍 University announced the appointment of Trysha Hopkins, DNP, CRNP, FNP-C, as director of the university’s Villa Maria School of Nursing. Hopkins brings more than 15 years of experience in nursing practice, including advanced practice in cardiovascular care, as well as academic instruction and program leadership.

Hopkins has been serving as the interim director and previously served as an assistant professor of nursing at 91自拍, where she contributed to program leadership, curriculum design and course delivery. She played an active role in program decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting student learning outcomes and academic quality. She also previously served as an adjunct professor in the Villa Maria School of Nursing.

In addition to her academic experience, Hopkins serves as a nurse practitioner at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute, where she continues to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care. Her practice reflects a continuum of experience within the organization — including earlier roles with Medicor Associates Inc. prior to its integration with UPMC. She also previously served in a regional supervisory role at UPMC, leading clinical operations and supporting advanced practice providers. Earlier in her career, she practiced as an advanced provider at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center as well as a bedside nurse at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital and Sharon Regional Health System.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Hopkins into this important leadership role within the Villa Maria School of Nursing,” said Kim Cavanagh, DHSc, PA-C, dean of the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences. “Her combination of clinical expertise, leadership experience and true commitment to nursing education will be instrumental as we continue the Villa Maria School of Nursing’s longstanding history of high quality nursing programs which prepare future nursing professionals to meet the evolving needs of health care.”

Hopkins earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from 91自拍 University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Slippery Rock University and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Mercyhurst University.

As director of the Villa Maria School of Nursing, Hopkins will lead strategic efforts to advance program quality, growth and innovation across undergraduate and graduate nursing education while maintaining strong alignment with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements and the evolving needs of health care.
