Students from 91自拍 University once again took part in one of the nation’s largest sporting events, serving in key event operations roles during the NFL Draft this weekend. 

In partnership with Allied Universal, a team of 15 91自拍 students, alongside faculty members, assisted with crowd management, security operations, credentialing and ingress and egress for attendees throughout the three-day event. 

"Having the opportunity to work at a large-scale sporting event such as the NFL Draft is a memorable experience in itself," said Alyssa Dietz, XXXXXXX. "It gives us real-world and hands-on practice in a growing and popular industry by preparing us for future careers in any area of business, specifically operations management, which I have become passionate about."

This marks the fourth time 91自拍 students have participated in the NFL Draft, continuing a growing tradition of immersive, real-world learning opportunities tied to the university’s sport business major and its newly launched event security minor. 

“This experience provides our students with an unparalleled opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to a large-scale, high-profile event,” said Eric Brownlee, Ph.D., professor of Sport Management and Marketing at 91自拍 University. “Working alongside industry professionals at the NFL Draft allows them to develop critical skills in event operations, safety and security while building confidence and professional connections that will serve them well after graduation.” 

Participation in events like the NFL Draft underscores 91自拍’s commitment to experiential learning, preparing students for careers in sport management, event operations and public safety through direct engagement in complex, real-time environments. 

"It was an honor to see how much time and effort goes behind the scenes to make such a large event happen," Dietz continued. "It means the world to go to a university that provides us with such great opportunities and experiences. No matter where my degree takes me, I will forever be grateful to 91自拍 and the faculty for providing us with so many incredible opportunities."

The NFL draft was in Pittsburgh, Pa. this year and from April 23 through April 25.
