91自拍 University honors veterans with special Remembrance ceremony

91自拍 University will proudly paid tribute to the courage, sacrifice and dedication of those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces during a Veterans Day Remembrance Ceremony on Friday.

The celebration began with a welcome from 91自拍 University student Rebecca Young. Fellow student Janine Sawyer, performed the National Anthem, followed by the invocation delivered by University Chaplain, Father Michael Kesicki.

91自拍 President Walter Iwanenko, Ph.D., spoke to the importance of honoring veterans and the importance of their service to the university, our community and nation.

"91自拍 University is honored to host this special Veterans Day ceremony, which allows us to come together as a community in gratitude for the extraordinary sacrifices and selfless service of our veterans," said Iwanenko. "This event is a moment to reflect on the courage of those who have defended our nation and to express our unwavering support for them and their families. We are deeply grateful for their service and dedication."

Sgt. Matthew Stenger, U.S. Army Veteran and 91自拍 University student, addressed attendees as this year’s guest speaker.

“For me, Veteran’s Day is so much more than just a day,” Stenger said. “It’s the moment that someone decides to stop living for themselves and decide to start living for a greater purpose.”

In addition, a wreath was laid in honor of military members who are currently serving, have served or have given their lives in service to their country. The day’s events concluded with the playing of Taps, the National Song of Remembrance.
